Introducing Chronograph Collection by Perpétuel

The Low-Down

Perpétuel is the brainchild of Melika Yazdjerdi, Co-Founder & Chief Strategist at Ashfields & Perpétuel, with the mission of sourcing vintage collectibles and creating limited edition watches in collaboration with global artisans and experts.

Perpétuel in collaboration with Hoffman watches of New York, has created a limited-edition chronograph collection named ‘Khaleejuna Wahed’, translated as ‘Our Gulf’, that features special designs for the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain.

Melika explains, “We have been working closely with Will Hoffman to create a limited-edition series that represents the values of the region and something that has not been done before. The #khaleejunawahed collection is representation of our love and appreciate for the region and our collectors.”

IMHO

Hoffman watches a young brand that started on Kickstarter in 2016 with an idea of vintage sports watch inspired by Paul Newman Daytona and Speedmaster Pro, called the Racing 40. The original version featured a Seiko quartz movement and sold under USD 250, and later Hoffman introduced Seagull ST-19 chronograph movement that came in under USD 500 price tag. The case proportions are wrist friendly with 40mm x 13.5mm and lug-to-lug width of 48mm. The stainless steel case has an aluminum bezel insert with a tachymeter scale.

The Khaleejuna Wahed collection is based on the mechanical Racing 40 powered by a manual wind movement from Seagull.

The Khaleejuna Wahed collection is based on the mechanical Racing 40 with vivid dial colors representing the special colors of each Gulf state and their respective emblems. Both the bezel and sub-registers feature text in Eastern Arabic numerals, also called Arabic–Hindu numerals.
