Pilots Double Chrono

$ 8,720 Sold Out

  • The 2007 edition of the Doppelchronograph was a special one, because it marked the first release of IWC’s new association with the United States Navy Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor program, better known as TOPGUN. How did IWC celebrate this partnership? By releasing a watch that was the horological equivalent of a fighter plane. Not only did it house the highly robust and precise split-seconds chronograph movement of the brand, it was encased in a matte black ceramic case with a matte black dial, on which bold markings for the entire watch was easily displayed and read off. The watch was large, a generous 46mm, with the school’s logo stamped on the back of the case.

    The IWC Pilot’s Double Chronograph Edition Top Gun remains a handsome, deadly cool watch, and incredibly collectable and covetable. It came in a fabric and leather strap, which at the time was a rarity in luxury, though a much more common sight today.
