In 1950, Jaeger-LeCoultre created the Memovox, a watch with a mechanical alarm designed to accompany the inspired minds of the post-war era. That mechanical alarm watch was the starting point of a history that has been per-petuated for 70 years throughout the assorted collections of the maison. Since its appearance in 1950, the Memovox, in all of its forms, became as a tool watch suitable for quite a few circumstances, whether in an episode of the corporate world or under the mantle with which nature protects and envelops the most adventurous souls.
Towards 1959, Jaeger-LeCoultre unveiled the Memovox Deep Sea with the caliber 815, the first dive watch with an alarm whose sound —rather, its vibra-tion— was perceived underwater as an additional safety feature for divers. The Memovox Deep Sea was the brand's first real dive watch and it is accep-ted that only 1,061 pieces were made of it. Therefore, the 2016 “Tribute" ma-de sense to JLC to bring that concept to this century but in an incarnation qui-te faithful to the original as represented by the Tribute to Deep Sea.
