Zenith and Revolution re-visit an icon from Zenith’s past: the legendary El Primero Ref. A3818, dubbed “Cover Girl” for its appearance on the front of Manfred Rössler’s book Zenith: Swiss Watch Manufacture Since 1865. In a tonneau case identical to the Ref. A384, the A3818 sports one of the most distinctive dials on the market, with fine ‘shark’s tooth’ markings to define the 1/5th of a second that its 5Hz El Primero movement is accurate to. This modern rendition bears all of the original’s defining traits, down to the signature ‘ladder’ bracelet; with the enhanced practicality of a fully lumed dial for use in the dark.

LEGENDARY EL PRIMERO MOVEMENT
The El Primero was the first automatic chronograph in 1969, accurate to an unprecedented one-tenth of a second, courtesy of its fast-beating 5Hz escapement. To this day, the El Primero remains at the head of the pack in the field of mechanical chronographs.

DISTINCTIVE DIAL
The Cover Girl’s stunning galvanic blue dial bears a most distinctive shark’s tooth track of 300 fine marks to track chronograph readings accurate to one-fifth of a second, in line with the 5Hz beat rate of its El Primero movement.

NIGHT AS DAY
The entire dial and dial details have been treated with luminous paint, from all hands and markers, down to the 300 markers on the racing track, so that timings can be taken, down to 1/5th of a second, even in the dark.

SIGNATURE 'LADDER' BRACELET
A re-make of the Cover Girl is not complete without the signature ‘ladder’ bracelet that it came with.
